Question: If you knew you had three months.... |
|
If you knew you had three months to live, what would you do? Here's the catch. You know you have absolutely three months....at least. You could have decades left, but the only thing you're sure of is three months (or make it six, if that's easier). Do you do anything differently? Do you finish something? Start something? Make peace with someone? Or is it business as usual waiting for that period of time to end? I ask this question because while we may all be a bit taken aback thinking of only having X amount of time, I know it's the fact there's a specific limit mentioned, not that we believe we're immortal. Three months may not sound like a lot, but who knows, really, if they have three more hours, much less three months? Yet I think most of us live with a kind of unconscious, unrealistic immortality way of thinking, believing we can put off whatever it is we truly want to do, become, aspire to til........(?) because we have all the time in the world. How many people end their lives feeling satisfied that they did or at least attempted to do what was truly important?

It's easy for me - at 75 today (actually) but that will be more difficult for younger people.
Outside of tidying up my final affairs I would carry on as usual, seeing more of friends and family of course. Til then I'll keep on enjoying my relaxed life and my most valuable assets - my family, a loving wife, two perfect kids and two wonderful grandkids.
